Scraping
I got my back scraped... This is an ancient part of Chinese medicine, so I just had to give it a try. It actually was kinda pleasant! The marks are awful, though. As all kinds of traditional Chinese remedies, this one cures everything, and as always when I or someone else from my class from Norway tries these cures, we shock the doctors with our bad health (as with cupping, the darker marks, the worse your health). But it really did help, my back and shoulders feel a lot better right now. Maybe it really did "pull the bad stuff out" (quote doctor).

The Great Wall - again ^^
Today I went there again - the number one essential place to visit while in Beijing. You guys probably think it gets boring with time, but I must say: Three's a charm, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time I was there, even thought the initial amazement is gone. It will always be a breathtaking view, and I won't be surprised if I find myself there yet another time before my time is up.
... oh and we took toboggan down. I was so scared I couldn't even get my phone up to take photographs, but it was AWESOME!

We took a kind of ski lift up to the wall. Mia clung to the handle, I clung to my iPhone.
Still a little scared, but definitely enjoying the view
I have been so lucky weatherwise every single time I was there, and today was no exception. Crisp autumn air and loads of sunlight made for a brilliant scene.
The wall climbs the mountains in such a weird way, there doesn't seem to be any plan to make it straight or economize in meters - but it does make an even more splendid view.
Lookie what we found!
Inside the watchtowers, sometimes a labyrinth. When I walked the wall with Jonas, he actually couldn't find the way up to me at one point.
Gorgeous
Getting tired
Yey! Wall Wanderer. As Mao Zedong said: You're not a great man unless you've walked the Great Wall!
Getting more tired and eating cookies
Ooops, more shopping possibilities?
... and we have a winner! Ms Tourist of the day

Her first days in Beijing.
No wonder, we've done a lot of shopping. Surprisingly enough, a lot of practical stuff - winter shoes, for instance, but then ... she did get fake nails. And buy another three pairs of shoes (all very nice, of course, even though one pair turned out to have the tip pointing in the wrong direction on one of the shoes. Street vendors ...).
We had Korean BBQ for lunch, which is delicious. We even had our own little "cookie"-aprons - which I suspect were actually meant to be "cook"-aprons. Chinglish is so charming! We were treated Peking duck for dinner by Xiao Wangs parents, and after queing up for en hour to get a table (this is Beijing's number one Peking Duck restaurant! ^^), the food we were served tasted even better. One of my favorite Chinese dishes!
Today we went to the Forbidden City. We stood in line for an eternity - it seemed all of China wanted to join us walking through the once peaceful courtyards. We had a good time though, and the ice cream there was soo good! This was the third time I was there, so the pictures probably are getting boring - but hey, three's the charm! And the Weather was fantastic, as it has been since she arrived. 北京欢迎你!
We ate dumplings for lunch, at one of the best dumpling places in Beijing, close to the Forbidden city. I managed to find this place when I was there with Jonas, after a bit of wandering around, and magically enough I remembered where it was and brought us safe to shore this time as well. The pork dumplings were fabulous. Now it's time for hotpot for dinner, and then: KTV!

Mia with her newly purchased hand bag
Korean bbq - ox tongue, yumyum! (My Chinese friend thought I'd frown upon this - she didn't know we eat this in Norway every Christmas!)
oops ...
Peking duck accessories
... and the duck itself.

Mia has arrived!
My sister finally made it to Beijing, despite her own fears that she wouldn't. She arrived yesterday and we ate at the little chinese restaurant up the wooden stairs - she, as Jonas did, thought the food was a bit too spicy. Seriously, where is my chili soulmate?
Mia found the Wudaokou street marked. And stayed there. Suddenly the day-long flight from Norway didn't seem so tiring and a very happy Mia bought new socks, new nail polish and ... stuff. Today we went shopping, of course!
... pictures coming up when the internet connection is working again.

Ever been to Tian'anmen Square on China's National day?
... I have. And there were a lot of Chinese people there. I guess taking the subway perhaps wasn't such a great idea - changing subway took over 30 minutes inside the station and no wonder - according to Wikipedia over 5 million people take the subway every day in Beijing, and I somehow have the feeling that today was a tiny bit more crowded than usual ...
Eventful day. So much happened that I even forgot my newly purchased little Chinese flag at Xiao Wang's. Crap. I was so tired when I got home, I fell asleep on the couch. I usually do that in times of need, and I probably could've slept through the night if I didn't have to make ready for the world's most wonderful sister arriving tomorrow. God, I'm so looking forward to seeing her again! :D
Going to Tian'anmen = waiting.
... and there were so many people at Tian'anmen there was no way we would even set feet on the square itself, so we watched from a distance as thousands of people floated by
And then I went for a walk back to the subway station. I had eaten dinner with Wang Xiaojie and her family, and no taxi would take a laowai, but the little walk turned out to be a nice one, in spite of the insane amount of people.
... and nice buildings, so it really wasn't that bad after all
Back in the Subway station (or Hell, as I like to call it). I realized were all the Chinese people I never see around Haidian are - in the same carriage as myself today, of course.
... Oh, and the Chinese workforce have no safety net. Really, they don't. These window washers were hanging by ropes off a sky scraper.
Back home to the nicely painted man hole covers. Now time for a nap on the couch.
